Our current project, EFECT, in collaboration with Street Child, aims to enrol 42,000 out of school children OOSC in quality primary education. In the recent media trip seven media outlets visited EAA’s project in Nigeria leading to widespread EAA coverage, along with Government acknowledgement of EAA’s work.
A Look into EAA Foundation and Street Child Project EFECT in Nigeria
Education Above All (EAA) Foundation recently conducted a media field trip to Nigeria to spotlight its Education for Every Child Today (EFECT) Project.
The goals of the EFECT project will be achieved through several strategic interventions, which include community sensitisation; teacher training and support; cash transfers and incentivised savings schemes; construction of safe and secure classrooms and/or learning centres; and the recruitment of community teachers for the learning centres. Through innovative and interesting initiatives as highlighted in this News Central TV segment.
For over 15 years, insurgency in Northern Nigeria has caused immense suffering, including killings, hardships, and a lack of education. Amina M's resilient story reflects the struggles of many children in the region. Her family was forced to abandon their home and livelihood due to violent attacks, leaving Amina out of school. Through the EFECT project, Amina has received the support she needs to return to the classroom. She is dreaming again.
Here at EAA we believe that working with governments is key to sustainable and long term change. Our Nigeria project highlights government’s acknowledgement of EAA’s and partners’ roles in supporting positive change in their country in this Plus TV Africa segment.
