Our Objective 

EAA’s Youth Advocacy Programme (YAP) aims to empower and mobilise youth to become positive agents of sustainable change, and fight for causes that are vital to sustainable development – through the provision and protection of education for all, and especially most vulnerable and marginalised communities.  

EAA believes that its Youth Advocates (YA) are its ambassadors to the world. The programme empowers young people as problem-solvers and future world leaders. It prioritises capacity building and training, offering youth the space and time to develop their skills and amplify advocacy for the right to education. 

Our Work

YAP acts as a hub for youth-to-youth support, cultural and knowledge exchange, and best-practice sharing activities. YAP also provides young leaders with the opportunity to learn about policy, speak to people in power about issues affecting them, and explore new and creative ways to raise awareness and mobilize for change.

Diversity is at the heart of YAP’s youth community and philanthropic activities. Since YAP’s first-ever induction training workshops in Doha in March 2019, EAA has inducted + trained 65 advocates from 24 countries: Qatar, India, Egypt, Somalia, Iran, Tunisia, Gambia, Pakistan, Syria, UK, Sudan, Vietnam, USA, Yemen, DRC, Cambodia, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Lebanon, China, Colombia, Philippines, Korea.

YAP’s scope of activities is equally versatile and has come to include participation in events and meetings at the United Nations General Assembly, the Geneva Social Forum and the Paris Social Forum. The programme’s Youth Advocates have also led educational field missions to two refugee camps in Uganda, East Africa, and have taken part in Youth Talk Ed and What She Said – under “Right to Education”, a local campaign co-led by EAA, UNESCO GCC, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and NHRC. 

The programme will continue to expand and grow cohorts of proactive global youth.
