EAA statement: 930 Schools Reported Damaged in the Crisis in Ukraine

Calendar icon

Education Above All is deeply alarmed by multiple reports that as many as 930 schools have been damaged to date as the crisis in Ukraine enters its seventh week.

EAA condemns all attacks on students, teachers and education facilities in Ukraine and worldwide. The UN Security Council Resolution 2601, passed unanimously in October 2021, demonstrates a global consensus that all parties to armed conflict must safeguard the right to education and ensure that schools are protected safe spaces for all.

The ongoing attacks on education in Ukraine only confirm how urgent it is for the international community to unite to protect all students, educators, and schools.

Impact

"Humanity will not overcome the immense challenges we face unless we ensure that children get the quality education that equips them to play their part in the modern world." -- HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser
