Educate A Child partnered with the Inter-American Development Bank to provide access to quality primary education to 22,000 OOSC in Haiti. The Emergency Tuition Waiver Program Support project aims to provide tuition waivers to out of school children (OOSC) in three departments in Southern Haiti (Sud, Grande Anse and Nippes) that were affected by the August 2021, earthquake. This objectives of this project will be achieved through several strategic interventions, including tuition waivers to ease the economic strain on families and reduce its impact as a barrier to accessing primary education targeting 250 public and non-public schools; climate resilience education to be implemented across ten (10) primary school to promote activism through practice in schools and communities to carry out environmental protection activities including planting, waste management, and the preparation of compost and nurseries. Which will overall improve the governance of the education system including support for the tracking and retention of OOSC.
