Educational, economic and social development for Syrian and Lebanese youth
, this project aims to provide a model for youth empowerment in the region. In the long term, the development of such a model could help young people to engage in all levels of political and economic life and to challenge discrimination. This model, coupled with the legal and institutional reform of socio-economic policies, will ensure young people are able to contribute to public policy formulation, to scrutinize local resource distribution, and to monitor the implementation of national policies. Hence, the cornerstone of this project is to empower young people and ensure that young people from both refugee and host communities can engage in assessing the provision of services with specific focus on education, and formulate community-based initiatives to lead change in areas of social cohesion and education. The project will support groups, organisations and networks of young entrepreneurs to build their skills and motivation to initiate enterprises or projects - in response to local challenges identified by themselves - with the aim of self-empowerment, social development and realizing their right to a decent income.
