EAA Calls for an End to Violence Against Children in the Israel-Palestine Conflict
EAA unequivocally condemns the ongoing violence due to which at least 40 children have been killed in Gaza, and more than 1,000 people are reported injured*. At least 35 schools have been damaged, while at least 29 schools are sheltering displaced families who had to flee their homes. EAA has supported the reconstruction of schools and educational facilities in Palestine after the 2014 war, to enable Palestinian children and youth to continue their learning journey.
EAA’s Protect Education in Insecurity and Conflict (PEIC) programme calls for the protection of all children, and accountability for grave violations of international law against children. Sustainable peace in the region requires that parties to the conflict address the root causes of the conflict; they must prevent further escalation of violence and justice for children who are the victims of deliberate violence and harm. We must all come together as one international community to work with determination to build a process for peace founded on legality and justice. We must #UnitetoProtect for Gaza - All Children Matter.
